Dr. Hinman’s interest in helping others with their health began in her early 20’s when she studied Jin Shin Acutouch, a gentle form of acupressure from Japan. She primarily worked on friends and family for many years until she studied Thai Massage. It was at this point she wanted to pursue training to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. During this time she was privileged to get to work with a Physical Therapist for special needs students in the public school system. From this experience she realized she wanted to have more training in order to help people with a greater range of health problems, which led her to Physical Therapy. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010. Her continuing education has consisted of extensive training in osteopathic approaches to therapy such as Crainosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Myofascial Release, and Muscle Energy. Dr. Hinman prefers to use yoga, pilates and Feldenkrais-types of movement in her practice and for patient’s home exercise programs.
Dr. Hinman specializes in treating individuals who require a gentle approach to therapy due to having chronic pain, people who have not had success with traditional physical therapy, folks who have multiple health conditions, and those who have conditions that doctors are puzzled by. She also works with many other physical conditions, including: pre/post surgery, motor vehicle accidents and on-the-job injuries. She accepts many insurances and is happy to verify benefits for you.
Jeri lives with her daughter and 2 grandchildren and she enjoys yoga, biking, dancing, and reading.
